The Local Law 196 Deadline December 1 still in effect!
Less than 3 months left until the Local Law 196 deadline for construction safety training. Local Law 196 requires certain workers and supervisors to receive safety training at construction sites that are required to designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager. Workers will need a minimum of 30 hours of training to attain a Limited SST Card. Supervisors will also need 62 hours of training including aĀ 30-Hour OSHAĀ course to attain a Supervisor SST Card. September is National Preparedness Month
Each September, National Preparedness Month encourages Americans to be prepared for disasters or emergencies in their homes, businesses, and communities. There are many ways to reduce risks from leaks, spills, hazardous materials, and other dangers. DOB Stops All NYC Work by United Crane and Rigging
DOB halted all crane work citywide by United Crane and Rigging. DOB has identified them as responsible for a crane accident on July 30th at a NYCHA building at 749 FDR Drive. The agency’s order will remain in effect until the firm replaces the personnel who supervised the crane work. United must put in place an independent monitor who will make monthly safety-compliance reports to DOB. DOB issued five violations to United that carry penalties of $110,000.
