Issuing SST cards is as easy as 1-2-3:
CREATE STUDENT PROFILE
LINK TO SST CARD
The SST cards issued by trainers utilize NFC technology, similar to a debit or credit card when tapping to make a payment. Each card will have an encrypted identity only shown to a user when tapped by a smartphone. Supervisors, general contractors, and those who wish to see a worker’s training on site can tap an SST card to view safety training.

SST Cards to Comply with Local Law 196
Local Law 196, also known as LL 196, requires all construction workers in New York City to receive a minimum of 40 hours of approved training. For supervisors there is a 62 hour minimum of approved training.
In order to qualify for an SST card, the training received must be specified by the NYC DOB and must be conducted by an approved SST Trainer.
The SST Card
Carry a physical SST card in your wallet, tool belt, or clipped to your safety vest. Your SST card fits neatly in your wallet or on your existing card clip. Tap a smartphone to the SST card and you’ll see all of the training that a worker has.
Check worker training and certifications on every job site and every project.
