The Local Law 196 Deadline Changed to December 1!
For the second time since the new requirements were enacted, city officials have extended the deadline for construction workers to complete new safety training. The City Council granted workers another six months, meaning the new deadline is December 1, 2019. Local Law 196 requires certain workers and supervisors to receive safety training at construction sites that are required to designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager. Workers will need a minimum of 30 hours of training to attain a Limited SST Card by December 1, 2019. Supervisors will need 62 hours of training by the same date, including a 30-Hour OSHA course to attain a Supervisor SST Card.

Card Issuance Guidelines
The Department is recommending that Course Providers follow the card guidelines in RCNY105-03 located at //www1.nyc.gov/site/buildings/industry/become-course-provider.page , as it pertains to the Site Safety Card Issuance process.
